2 chicken breasts
garlic and onion chicken stock
12 small yellow potatoes, cut in halves
2 ears of corn, cut in halves
8 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into 5 mm slices
1 bunch scallions
1 bunch cilantro
8 guascas
1 cups of heavy cream
2 capers, drained
2 avocados, peeled, pitted and thinly sliced salt
4 pieces of corn
The night before marinate the chicken breasts with garlic, onion and salt.
In a heavy 4-liter casserole, put the breasts, add water, cover and cook until the chicken is tender.
Transfer the chicken to a platter.
Remove the skin from the chicken and discard.
Cut the chicken breasts into strips.
Cook the yellow potatoes in the casserole with the chicken stock until they start to disintegrate.
Add more chicken stock to taste.
At this point the soup should be thick and fairly smooth.
Add the bunch of scallions, the bunch of cilantro, the sliced potatoes, the guascas, and the corn.
When cooked remove the bunch of cilantro and the bunch of scallions.
Serve the chicken on soup bowls and pour the soup into the bowls.
Pour the cream and the chopped capers on each bowl.
Float the sliced avocado on top.
Serves 4.
You definitively have to use guascas if you want to call your soup Ajiaco. It's not easy to get them out of Colombia, but they give this soup its characteristic flavor.

MADE IN HEAVEN

1987 was created, 1993 was seen first time ever, old movie I waited until 1999 to see it again, only took me 6 years, a whole life I might say, that night I was 10 years old and was home alone, zapping channels when there was this perfect image of heaven, one never seen until then, ejoyed greatly watching this, jus I didnt catch the name or anything. This is just a romantic, occassionaly funny, drama about two souls who consumate their marriage literally in "Heaven". Mike Shea, in his first life dies as a young man performing a heroic rescue. Shortly after arriving in "Heaven" he meets a new soul, Annie Packert, who has never lived on Earth before. The drama centers around their separation soon after being wedded and the burning question is whether they will reunite on Earth before time runs out or whether they are fated to eternal soul-searching.

ONLY GOD KNOWS WHY
I've been sittin' here
Tryin' to find myself
I get behind myself
I need to rewind myself
Lookin' for the payback
Listen for the playback
They say that every man bleeds just like me
And now I feel like number one
Yet I'm last in life
I watch my younger son
And it helps to pass the time
I take too many pills to help to ease the pain
I made a couple of dollar bills still I feel the same
Everybody knows my name
They say it way out loud
A lot of folks fuck me
It's hard to hang out in crowds
I guess that's the price you pay
To be some big shot like I am
Outskirt stands and one night stands
Still I can't find love
And when your walls come tumbling down
I will always be around
And when your walls come tumbling down
I will always be around
People don't know about the things I say and do
They don't understand about the shit that I've been through
It's been so long since I've been home
I've been gone, I've been gone for way too long
Maybe I forgot all things I miss
Oh somehow I know there's more to life than this
I said it too many times
And I still stand firm
You get what you put in
And people get what they deserve
Still I ain't seen mine
No I ain't seen mine
I've been giving just ain't been gettin'
I've been walking down that line
So I think I'll keep on walking
With my head held high
I'll keep moving on and only God knows why
Tryin' to find myself
I get behind myself
I need to rewind myself
Lookin' for the payback
Listen for the playback

CHEERS DARLIN'

cheers darlin'
here's to you and your lover boy
cheers darlin'
i got years to wait around for you
cheers darlin'
i’ve got your wedding bells in my ear
cheers darlin'
you give me three cigarettes to smoke my tears away
and i die when you mention his name
and i lie i should have kissed you
when we were running in the rain
what am i darlin'?
a whisper in your ear?
a piece of your cake?
what am i darlin?
the boy you can fear?
or your biggest mistake?
cheers darlin'
here's to you and your lover man
cheers darlin'
i’ll just hang around and eat from a can
cheers darlin'
i got a ribbon of green on my guitar
cheers darlin'
i got a beauty queen
to sit not very far from me
i die when he comes around to take you home
i'm too shy I should have kissed you
when we were alone

Dancing really hard in Cartagena, say. When I wake
in the morning, a knife in my forehead, with low
Low eyes like clouds over tableland and the expression
Of a benevolent donkey, I check the dictionary.
It means a book instead of a flowerpot. What a surprise!
Offering tortilla espanola and refuge from sunshine,
The old lady owner of the local, a long black cigarette
tangled in her bony fingers. There are certain persons
Who understand -nada- she says. Ni nada. I think:
I've gone dancing in Cartagena. As a girl, bored
Durng Minnesota summers, I stuffed bags in other bags,
I filled things up. Monolingual, flat-chested, with no ideas
About the weather. I can't tell you how much
I've developed since then. She drums her fingers, while
Her cigarette smokes like a signal fire. The bar fills up
With those little puffs, signifying nothing, white noise
And white noise, a strange weather with no wind
Behind it. The beat of those fingers reminds me of --
Nada. Ni nada. I'm illiterate today. So pleased.
I've been dancing. I've really come a long way.

¿ACASO COLOMBIA SOLO HUELE A SANGRE?
Colombia huele a arco iris, Colombia no huele a sopa, Colombia huele a guayaba y a mariposas amarillas, Colombia huele a gordas y gordos recién masacrados.
Colombia huele a espíritu callejero y libertario, huele a rumba y canto, huele a arte y carcajadas. Colombia huele a salsa, pueblo y muchedumbre. ¡Llegó el cólera! Colombia huele a río.

ENGLAND, GERMANY AND COLOMBIA, BEHIND THE CAMERA, SWEDEN AND IRAN.
COMO TODOS LOS FINES DE SEMANA, BORRACHOS EN EL APARTAMENTO.
MAMASANTA, PECATA Y CHUPAMEDIAS.
DE PORQUE ELLA NUNCA LA DIJO QUE LO AMABA.
DE PORQUE 2000 DOMINGOS LE PARECIERON UN CHISTE.
DE PORQUE YA NO ENCUENTRO DIFERENCIA ENTRE HABLAR Y NO HABLAR.

BUSCO UNA VIUDA VACANTE
Busco una viuda vacante,
sin importarme su estado,
con un pisito amueblado,
y en el banco mucha guita,
y que pase la cuentita,
a nombre de un servidor,
por ahí con el nuevo amor,
entra a jugar a la guerra,
y se planta bajo tierra,
con el marido anterior.
Yo soy un hombre morocho,
con unos ojos verdosos,
cabello enredao, buen mozo,
recien tengo treinta y siete,
pa' el amor inteligente,
tambien para la mujer,
porque en cosas del querer,
yo se ofrecer la ternura,
y entregarme con dulzura,
para rendirme a sus pies.
Tengo salud para rato,
duermo diez horas por dias,
un bañito de agua fria,
y desayuno completo,
a las doce buen almuerzo,
y despues de descansar,
porque eso de trabajar,
con el estomago lleno,
me batieron que no es bueno,
y hasta me puedo enfermar.
Si alguien esta interesada,
y quiere formar el nido,
yo le brindo el apellido,
en una forma galante,
contestar "poste restante",
casilla noventa y dos,
a nombre de un soñador,
para casarse al instante,
con una viuda vacante,
que este huerfana de amor.

SINGING WITHOUT TROUBLE

I spun a web, it's tangled up with me,
And I lost my head,
The thought of all the stupid things I said,
O no what's this?
A spider web, and I'm caught in the middle,
I turned to run,
The thought of all the stupid things I've done,
O no I see,
A spider web and it's me in the middle,
So I twist and turn,
Here I am in love in a bubble,
Singing,
They spun a web for me.

CANNONBALL
Still a little bit of your taste in my mouth
Still a little bit of you laced with my doubt
Still a little hard to say what's going on
Still a little bit of your ghost your witness
Still a little BIT of your face I haven't kissed
You step a little closer EACH DAY
Still I can't SAY what's going on
Stones taught me to fly
Love taught me to lie
Life taught me to die
So it's not hard to fall
When you float like a cannonball
Still a little bit of your song in my ear
Still a little bit of your words I long to hear
You step a little closer TO ME
So close that I can't see what's going on
Stones taught me to fly
Love taught me to lie
Life taught me to die
So it's not hard to fall
When you float like a cannon
Stones taught me to fly
Love taught me to cry
So come on courage!
Teach me to be shy
'Cause it's not hard to fall
And I don't WANNA scare her
It's not hard to fall
And I don't wanna lose
It's not hard to grow
When you know that you just don't know
Still a little bit of you laced with my doubt
Still a little hard to say what's going on
Still a little bit of your ghost your witness
Still a little BIT of your face I haven't kissed
You step a little closer EACH DAY
Still I can't SAY what's going on
Stones taught me to fly
Love taught me to lie
Life taught me to die
So it's not hard to fall
When you float like a cannonball
Still a little bit of your song in my ear
Still a little bit of your words I long to hear
You step a little closer TO ME
So close that I can't see what's going on
Stones taught me to fly
Love taught me to lie
Life taught me to die
So it's not hard to fall
When you float like a cannon
Stones taught me to fly
Love taught me to cry
So come on courage!
Teach me to be shy
'Cause it's not hard to fall
And I don't WANNA scare her
It's not hard to fall
And I don't wanna lose
It's not hard to grow
When you know that you just don't know
